General

What is PrecisePack?
PrecisePack is an AI-powered packing optimization platform for e-commerce warehouses. It uses a 3D bin packing algorithm to recommend the optimal box for every order, compares shipping rates across FedEx, UPS, and USPS, and lets you purchase labels — all in one place.
Who is PrecisePack for?
PrecisePack is built for small and mid-size businesses that ship physical products. Whether you're an e-commerce seller shipping 20 packages a day or a warehouse shipping 500+, PrecisePack eliminates guesswork and cuts shipping costs.
How is PrecisePack different from ShipStation?
ShipStation is a great tool for managing orders and printing labels, but it doesn't optimize which box to use. PrecisePack's AI-powered 3D bin packing algorithm analyzes every item in your order, tests all 6 rotations, and recommends the tightest-fitting box — something ShipStation simply doesn't do. We also integrate with ShipStation as an order source.
How is PrecisePack different from enterprise packing solutions like Paccurate?
Enterprise solutions are powerful but complex and expensive — they're built for companies with dedicated integration teams. PrecisePack delivers the same core intelligence (3D bin packing with multi-carrier rate shopping) in a simpler, more affordable package. We're purpose-built for small and mid-size operations that need optimization without the overhead.

Features & How It Works

How does the AI box selection work?
PrecisePack uses an Extreme Point-based 3D bin packing algorithm with First Fit Decreasing Volume optimization. In plain terms: it takes every item in your order, tests all 6 possible rotations, and finds the placement that minimizes wasted space. It then recommends the smallest box from your inventory that fits everything while respecting weight limits.
What if an order doesn't fit in one box?
PrecisePack automatically handles multi-box splitting. If an order is too large for a single box, the algorithm will optimally distribute items across multiple boxes, selecting the best combination from your inventory.
Can I see how items fit inside the box?
Yes! PrecisePack includes an interactive 3D visualization powered by Three.js. You can rotate the view, inspect layer by layer, and see exactly how each item is positioned inside the box. Each item is color-coded with a legend.
Can my packer override the AI recommendation?
Absolutely. While PrecisePack recommends the optimal box, packers can manually select a different box if needed. The system will show a warning if the override box doesn't fit all items.
How does rate shopping work?
Click "Get Rates" and PrecisePack fetches real-time quotes from FedEx, UPS, and USPS simultaneously. Rates are sorted by price with the customer's preferred carrier highlighted. You'll also see your margin (profit or loss) versus what the customer paid for shipping.
Does PrecisePack detect residential vs. commercial addresses?
Yes. PrecisePack uses Google Address Validation (with FedEx as a fallback) to automatically classify addresses as residential or commercial. This ensures accurate surcharge pricing in your rate quotes.

Integrations

What order management systems does PrecisePack integrate with?
Currently, PrecisePack integrates with SellerCloud and ShipStation. Our goal is to connect to any selling platform that has an API. Contact us if you need a specific integration — we prioritize based on demand.
What shipping carriers are supported?
PrecisePack supports FedEx (direct API), UPS (direct API or via WWEX SpeedShip), and USPS (via Stamps.com with Commercial Base pricing — up to 89% off retail rates). You use your own carrier accounts for the best negotiated rates.
Do I need my own carrier accounts?
Yes. PrecisePack connects to your existing FedEx, UPS, and Stamps.com accounts so you get your own negotiated rates. We never mark up carrier prices or add per-label fees.
Can PrecisePack push data back to my order management system?
Yes. After packing, PrecisePack automatically pushes package dimensions and weight back to SellerCloud or ShipStation, keeping your systems in sync.

Pricing & Billing

How much does PrecisePack cost?
The Starter plan (AI box selection) is $49/month. The Pro plan (packing + shipping with rate shopping and label purchasing) is $112/month. Enterprise pricing is custom. All plans are billed monthly with no contracts.
Is there a free trial?
Yes! The Starter plan includes a 7-day free trial with all base features — AI box selection, 3D visualization, SKU management, and box inventory tracking. No credit card required.
Are there per-shipment or per-label fees?
No. PrecisePack charges a flat monthly rate. Ship as many packages as you want — we don't add per-shipment or per-label fees on top of your carrier costs.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes. Upgrade from Starter to Pro anytime and get immediate access to all shipping features. Downgrade at the end of your billing cycle.

Setup & Support

How long does it take to set up PrecisePack?
Most businesses are up and running in under an hour. Connect your order source, add your box inventory (you can import from Uline by SKU), and start packing. Product dimensions are added as you go — when an unknown SKU appears, your packer maps it once and it's resolved forever.
Do I need to enter all my product dimensions upfront?
No. PrecisePack builds your product catalog organically. When an unmapped SKU appears in an order, your packer is prompted to enter dimensions or map it to an existing product. After the first time, that SKU is resolved automatically for all future orders.
How do I add my box sizes?
You can add boxes manually or use the built-in Uline lookup — just enter the Uline SKU (e.g., S-4884) and PrecisePack auto-populates the dimensions and weight. You can also bulk import multiple boxes at once.
What kind of support do you offer?
All plans include email support. Enterprise plans include priority support with an SLA and dedicated onboarding assistance.
